Dan Malloy

Chief Executive Officer

Prior to founding United Risk, Mr. Malloy led global reinsurer, SiriusPoint, as Chief Executive Officer appointed immediately following its creation and was instrumental in its rapid recognition and market presence. As CEO of the A+ rated Bermuda-based underwriter of insurance and reinsurance, he built relations with program managers, administrators and a worldwide network of risk business executives across a spectrum of industry sectors. Prior to being named to head SiriusPoint, Mr. Malloy was CEO of Third Point Re, which he joined in 2012 moving up from Executive Vice President of Underwriting, then to Chief Underwriting Officer, and then to CEO in 2019. Overall, Mr. Malloy's experience in the industry spans more than four decades, including positions with Aon Benfield, Stockton Reinsurance, Centre RE, and Zurich Reinsurance.

With a passion for innovation, Mr. Malloy has a proven track record of leading the creative endeavors of talented and ambitious individuals who strive to build new businesses, products, and facilities. Never particularly interested in corporate management or corporate politics, Mr. Malloy has always gravitated towards the design and deal-making aspect of the business at the intersection of insurance, reinsurance, and the capital markets. Over his career he has cultivated innumerable new products and facilities; notably, Mr. Malloy originated United Risk’s current Aerospace practice as a satellite business back in 1982.

Mr. Malloy has been a featured speaker at the Rendez-Vous de Monte Carlo, the insurance industry’s major annual gathering, and on important panels and programs around the world. He was graduated from Dartmouth College.

Dan Malloy, CEO of United Risk, is well known in insurance circles for his service as a leader in advanced specialty areas and leading-edge insurance and reinsurance facilities and programs. He is recognized as an innovator whose professional history is marked by a progression of growth that has paralleled his creative energy and expanding influence throughout the reinsurance and insurance world.
